Bekaso in English !

Bambara (Mali’s most widely spoken language) for Be Ka So, means « the house for all ». Our association number one goal is to offer lodging facilities that match everybody’s budget, literally becoming « a house for everybody ». Bekaso affordable pricing for single, double or collective rooms definitively suits budget-concerned travellers, students and NGO volunteers abroad. And the longest you stay, the least you pay !

Bekaso also means « the house where you can ». That is why Bekaso team will offer its best help with your personal projects : we will facilitate you some contacts with M

ali nationals that could bring you interesting points of view on sciences, anthropology, arts, culture…
we can help you to find some contacts.

Bekaso also proposes you some activities : Every week, we organize a « grin » (to be pronounced somewhere between «grey» and «grain»), which is a free discussion about one particular theme, with people from the team, their guests, and almost everybody that accepts to share his or her views on the theme, and is able to drink Malian extra-strong and sweet green tea. Expect passionate late night discussions !
We also offer free Bambara classes every Thursday so you can learn the basics. Day trips and excursions are also readily organized according to the guests’ interests in order to discover the true Mali.

Bekaso permanent team is composed of a very well done mix of Mali nationals from different ethnics and French living abroad, plus volunteers working in Bamako for long periods.

That is why Bekaso just not feel like a Youth Hostel : it’s above all a family !
